Lip Flip

A subtler upper lip — without adding volume.

AED 350(excl. 5% VAT)

Prices are in AED and exclude 5% VAT. Every treatment begins with a physician consultation. A consultation is not a commitment to treatment.

What it is

A few precise units of botulinum toxin relax the muscle around the upper lip so it rests slightly outward. A refinement, not a filler.

What it addresses

An upper lip that looks thin or seems to disappear when you smile, a mildly gummy smile, an upper lip that curls inward, and fine lines above the lip. Relaxing the muscle around the upper lip lets it rest slightly outward, for a softer, more balanced look without added volume.

What you should see

A subtle, natural-looking change: the upper lip shows a little more, especially when you smile, and fine lines above it can look softer. The smile looks more balanced and relaxed, without any added volume.

The honest strip

Sessions
1
Downtime
Usually minimal.
How it feels
A few quick pinpricks along the upper lip.
When you see it
The effect begins within about 3–7 days and peaks at around two weeks.
Skin types
Suitable for all skin types (Fitzpatrick I–VI).

What it does not do

  • Does not add volume or structure — it is not a filler
  • Does not treat marionette lines, the jawline or the lower face
  • Does not last as long as anti-wrinkle injections in the forehead or jaw
  • Cannot correct asymmetry caused by bone structure
  • Not a substitute for a surgical lip lift
  • Can briefly make sipping through a straw, whistling or some sounds feel different

Who it is not for

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Myasthenia gravis, Lambert–Eaton syndrome or other neuromuscular disorders
  • Infection, a cold sore or dermatitis around the mouth
  • Allergy to botulinum toxin or its ingredients (some brands contain traces of cow's milk protein)
  • Work or hobbies that rely on precise lip control, such as playing a wind instrument
  • Hoping for added volume — filler is the treatment for that

Areas

  • Upper lip: a few tiny injections into the lip muscle (orbicularis oris), just above the lip border
  • Treatment is limited to the upper lip

Downtime, in full

Usually minimal. Small bumps at the injection points settle within about an hour, a pinpoint bruise is occasionally seen, and most people return to their day straight away.

Comfort and anaesthesia

A few quick pinpricks along the upper lip. Most people tolerate it well without anaesthetic; ice or a topical anaesthetic cream may be used for comfort.

Timeline

The effect begins within about 3–7 days and peaks at around two weeks. It usually lasts about two to three months, then wears off gradually, and the treatment can be repeated.

After the treatment

  • Stay upright for four hours
  • Avoid rubbing or pressing on the lips for 24 hours, including heavy lipstick application
  • Skip strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for the rest of the day
  • No lasers, peels or other treatments around the mouth for 1–2 weeks
  • If the result looks uneven after two weeks, contact the clinic
  • If you are prone to cold sores, your doctor may advise antiviral cover

How people describe it

  • An upper lip that disappears when smiling
  • A gummy smile that shows a lot of gum
  • Wanting slightly more lip show without filler
  • A thin upper-lip line in photos
  • An upper lip that curls inward
  • Wanting a natural result — their own lips, subtly refined
