Therapeutic Ultrasound & Electrotherapy

The physiotherapy unit used alongside manual therapy and exercise to ease pain and support the recovery of muscles, tendons and joints.

How it works

In three steps.

  1. 01

    Sound reaches soft tissue

Ultrasound waves travel through the skin into the muscle, tendon or ligament being treated.

  2. 02

    Circulation increases

Gentle warmth raises local blood flow and makes the tissue more pliable.

  3. 03

    Nerves and muscles respond

Electrical currents quieten pain signals and prompt the muscle to activate.

In words

Therapeutic ultrasound sends high-frequency sound waves into soft tissue such as muscle, tendon and ligament. Depending on the settings, it gently warms the tissue, which can increase local blood flow and make it more pliable, or works without noticeable heat to support the tissue's own repair. Electrotherapy passes controlled electrical currents through pads on the skin, either to help ease pain or to help muscles activate. Both are used alongside hands-on treatment and exercise rehabilitation, not on their own.

Areas the clinic treats with it: back, knee, shoulder, limbs.

Device suitability is confirmed at consultation — never before.

Every treatment begins with a physician consultation. A consultation is not a commitment to treatment.
