Why it happens

Hair Thinning & Receding Hairline, explained plainly.

The commonest cause of gradual thinning is an inherited sensitivity of the hair follicles to androgens, hormones present in both men and women, which makes each follicle produce a finer, shorter hair with every cycle. In men this typically shows at the temples and crown; in women, as a widening parting. Shedding can also follow stress, illness, childbirth, crash dieting, nutritional deficiency, thyroid change or some medicines, which is why a proper history and, where appropriate, blood tests matter before any plan is made.
