Why it happens
Scalp Health, explained plainly.
The scalp is skin, with a dense supply of oil glands and its own community of microorganisms. When oil production, cell turnover and that microbial balance fall out of step, the result can be flaking, itching, tightness or excess oil. Heat and sweat, frequent washing with hard or desalinated water, heavy styling products and dry air-conditioned air may all unsettle it. A calm, well-conditioned scalp is also the better foundation for healthy-looking hair.
