Why it happens

Enlarged Pores & Rough Texture, explained plainly.

Pore size is largely inherited and tied to how active the oil glands are, which is why pores look largest on the nose and inner cheeks. They appear wider when filled with oil and dead cells, and as collagen around them weakens with age and sun exposure, their walls slacken. Heat and humidity increase oil flow, while air-conditioned interiors can dehydrate the surface, leaving skin that is both shiny and rough.
