Why it happens
Cellulite, explained plainly.
Cellulite is a matter of structure more than weight. Beneath the skin, fat sits in compartments separated by fibrous bands that anchor the skin to deeper tissue. When those bands pull down while fat pushes up, the surface dimples. Women's connective tissue is arranged in a way that makes this far more likely, and hormones, heredity, circulation and thinning skin all contribute, while weight gain can make it more visible. It is extremely common and appears in slim and athletic bodies alike.
